Under U.S. influence, the city grew and was enriched with numerous buildings in the 1930s and 1940s, where sumptuous hotels, casinos and splendid nightclubs are built. Havana, like Las Vegas in the 1940s, developed into a destination to play and enjoy parties on sunny beaches.
Many office buildings and apartment complexes, along with some hotels approved by Fulgencio Batista, were dramatically altering the skyline. As a result, modernism greatly transformed the city by standing out for its quality individual buildings in its majestic avenues.
