Traveling is about knowing, about experiencing new things. An essential part of any trip is the culinary part. In NosotrosCubaneamos previously we talked about restaurants recommended by tourist guides in Havana. However, there are luxury restaurants in Havana that have been emerging. Some that stand out for their glamor and elegance. They are magical places, where their cuisine is a feast for the palate. The team of NosotrosCubaneamos offers a small critique of 5 of these:
A small restaurant, with an extraordinarily exquisite cuisine. They define themselves as “an honest kitchen in the heart of Havana”. Its restaurant represents a cozy house, where a leafy weeping willow welcomes you in its front yard. The bar and some tables serve as an anteroom at the entrance of this restaurant. The service of this place is excellent, meritorious of the elegance that represents it. The flavors and smells of this Havana avant-garde cuisine can easily compete with the great restaurants of New York or Paris.
A restaurant overlooking the sea where you can spend hours according to visitors. It has a good selection of wines, good service and chill out music to relax. Located in Playa is a place you should go if you are in Havana.
Iván Chef Justo:
A tiny restaurant compared to the luxury restaurants in the city, where the exquisite customer service and good cuisine prevail. Located near the Museum of the Revolution where you can see on the top floor a unique house dating from the eighteenth century. The dishes written on a blackboard on the wall announce the day’s offers. The abundance as well as the exquisiteness of its cuisine are a fact.
The authentic restaurant, on the third floor, opened its doors in 1996, after being the house that was the main venue for the filming of the classic film Strawberry and Chocolate. It is then an exclusive experience for those who decide to approach the tradition of the island, because they may run into objects from the film, portraits of Martí on the walls, beautiful symbols of Cuban religion such as statuettes, virgins and sunflowers.[Taken from Cubapaladar]
From the set of restaurants and palates located in the most privileged tourist area of old Havana, Doña Eutimia, after 6 years of its reopening, continues as a sanctuary of Cuban cuisine with a home accent and fair price-quality correlation. With a small space, set with photographs, paintings and stained glass of the island, its service is strictly by reservation, because while those around him do not fill their capacities, Doña Eutimia does not stop the flow of customers.
